Hello my name is Becky and I am the Manager of Hopscotch Portswood. I joined the Hopscotch team in 2024 and moved to the Portswood setting in January 2025. I quickly settled into the team and became manager. I have been primarily preschool based in my experience but have also been a higher level teaching assistant in a school setting, having a role as SEN support and helping children learn. 
 
At Hopscotch Portswood, we strive to deliver rich meaningful interactions which allow children to be creative, show care and courage. We want our children to be happy, confident and have a clear sense of self and belonging within their world, including their local community. We believe in recognising, and celebrating children as individuals, and extend their learning through their interests, wants and needs. Our desire is that children experience play based learning. Learning that should be fun, engaging and suitably challenging. Adults provide high quality interactions and create meaningful bonds with their children and our families to ensure they are positive role models for learning and provide a home from home experience. We have a beautiful outside space which is used throughout all the weathers, we offer freeflow play to allow children to express their own independence and choice. We have a fabulous team of people with a range of experiences and specialties. 
 
Alice Perry is our Deputy Manager having joined us in December 2022 as a Room Leader. As a mum, Alice is passionate about providing the best quality childcare for our families and enjoys watching the children grow in confidence and seeing them develop over their time with us. Whilst Alice is on her maternity leave we have Francesca Gibson covering as deputy, Francesca has a range of experiences as a room leader in all rooms. She has a caring nature but is that bubbly person that all the children love to be aroound.
 
We all share a passion for high quality interactions and supporting families and children in our local community.
