Play Create Teach

At Hopscotch we foster a learn through play approach; our fully motivated staff work alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage framework to ensure that the environment is rich and equipped for learning.

Ensuring children have choice within their play is encouraged through continuous provision areas. These areas are a constant environment that is safe for them to explore whist challenging their learning, encouraging them to become independent when making choices, something that is very important throughout their life and an important skill to adopt.

Our Nursery Practitioners are qualified in early years and are confident in planning enhancements within continuous provision and activities to provide a healthy balance of child and adult led activities.

By creating these opportunities within the environment, teaching methods and learning can be led by the children’s interests and their knowledge of the world around them.

Practitioners will carefully plan and adapt the nursery surroundings to encourage new learning experiences.  We know children thrive on learning about what they are interested in, their surroundings and the wider world.

We fully understand that play is a valuable tool for learning new skills and our Practitioners guide and support your child through their next steps within their learning. By this method we are able to observe, assess and plan with you for your child on an individual basis.

By the use of handheld tablets, you and your family will be fully informed at every step of the way. Our online learning journals alerts you each time your child has been observed giving you immediate updates and the ability to respond, upload and update your child’s milestones.
