Hopscotch Day Nursery Portswood

Hi I am Georgia and I am the Manager of Hopscotch Portswood. I joined the Hopscotch team in 2022 to become the Manager of our brand new Portswood site, and I am qualified to PGCE in Primary Education. I have worked in nurseries for 12 years, and took a short break to teach in Reception and Year 1 before returning to Early Years.

At Hopscotch Portswood, we strive to deliver rich meaningful interactions which allow children to be creative, show care and courage. We want our children to be happy, confident and have a clear sense of self and belonging within their world, including their local community. We believe in recognising, and celebrating children as individuals, and extend their learning through their interests, wants and needs. Our desire is that children experience play based learning. Learning that should be fun, engaging and suitably challenging. Adults provide high quality interactions and create meaningful bonds with their children and our families to ensure they are positive role models for learning and provide a home from home experience.

Aimee is our Deputy at Portswood and brings a wealth of Hopscotch experience with her transferring from our Gosport site to Portswood to be our Deputy Manager. Ami has been with Hopscotch for over 7 years starting as a Nursery Nurse and progressing to Room leader .

We both share a passion for high quality interactions and supporting families and children in our local community.
