JOB PURPOSE
- To ensure all children are cared for to the highest standard over the lunch period
- Ensure that all children attending the nursery setting are kept safe and receive the very highest standard of care, learning and play opportunities which are age and developmentally appropriate.
- To work as a member of the nursery team, showing initiative and creativity
- To support an environment which encourages the children’s all round development and where high standards of care are provided
- To offer support to the nursery team, by having the flexibility to work in all areas of the nursery
- Have an awareness of Child Protection, Safeguarding and being able to report any concerns
- Provide high standards of quality within the nursery regarding the environment for the children, the resources and experiences offered.
- Promote and develop strong partnership with parents, carers and family members.
- Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
- Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met in accordance with company policy and procedure in line with individual needs
- Ensure paperwork within the rooms is completed accurately and efficiently
- Promote the nursery to current parents and prospective parents
- Assist with the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the nursery
- Assist with the supervision of children at mealtimes in line with company policy
- Undertake a shared responsibility for the health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery
- Ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures both statutory and company specific
- Operate to the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the bedding and nappy changing areas and food preparation areas
- Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures e.g. fire precautions, security, dropping off and collection of children
- Support all staff members
- When requested attend staff meetings and parent evenings
- Ensure accurate child information records and ensure current and up to date by passing on messages and information to the nursery office

- Former experience working in a childcare environment e.g. day nursery/after school club/school
- Knowledge of OFSTED, EYFS and other relevant childcare policies and programs
- Knowledge of safeguarding and the role of a DSL
- Food hygiene certificate
