Welcome to The Ashcroft
The Ashcroft – Opening Late Spring 2026
Hopscotch Day Nursery Group is delighted to announce the acquisition of the former Ashcroft Arts Centre in the heart of Fareham town centre.
This much-loved local building will soon be transformed into Hopscotch’s eleventh nursery setting - a purpose-designed children’s day nursery and welcoming community hub, scheduled to open in late Spring 2026.
Founded by Freya Derrick, Hopscotch Day Nursery Group is committed to delivering outstanding early years education and care. Commenting on the new opening, Freya says:
“We’re thrilled to be providing much-needed early years provision in the area. Alongside the nursery, we’re also creating a dedicated community space called The Natal Bean - a charitable initiative designed to support families with young children, whether they attend Hopscotch or not.”
The Natal Bean will offer a safe, inclusive community space for parents, grandparents and carers to connect, alongside guidance and support for navigating the early years. Working with trusted early-years specialists, the space will provide information on vital topics such as safer sleep, breastfeeding, infant nutrition and family wellbeing, recognising the importance of the first 1,001 days of a child’s life in shaping healthy development. There will also be a welcoming coffee lounge alongside the tailored workshops and events for families with young children to further strengthen the site's role as a vibrant and accessible community hub.
We welcome enquiries and early registrations for the new nursery. Please get in touch by phone or email and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Find out more...A nurturing space to grow
Designed to feel light, airy and modern, the setting will be a bespoke, creative and nurturing space for early years development. Carefully planned to support curiosity, confidence and wellbeing, the nursery is organised across three calm, purpose-built rooms, each tailored to a specific age group, ensuring children learn, play and grow in an environment that meets them exactly where they are developmentally. The Ashcroft also features a bespoke sensory room, carefully designed to support regulation, exploration and inclusive practice for all children. Strong Relationships at the heart of our practice As with all Hopscotch settings, we place strong importance on the Key Person approach and building trusting partnerships with parents. Each child is supported by a dedicated Key Person who takes time to get to know them as an individual, carefully following their interests and extending their learning through play-based experiences. Our team are genuinely excited to meet families and to care for your little ones, supporting children to feel safe, known and confident as they grow. Learning beyond the nursery Located in Fareham town centre, The Ashcroft offers rich opportunities for children to explore the local community. Regular outings - including visits to the local library - help children build confidence, curiosity and a sense of belonging in the world around them. |
