JOB PURPOSE
Essential
- To effectively coach teams with the high quality implementation of inclusive practice, supporting children with additional needs to make effective progress.
- To work closely with practitioners to ensure families and external agencies are working together to ensure the children’s needs are being met adapting the learning and development opportunities or environment to support this as required.
- To work alongside preschool practitioners to ensure effective strategies and support is in place to meet the needs of all the children in the setting with particular emphasis on those with SEND.
- Delivered identified support need in regard to Phonics, Physical development, Early talk boost, school readiness, Nrich where support is identified.
- To Lead preschool support meetings over the group to ensure consistency.
- Work in line with current legislation, best practice and following Hopscotch SEND polices and Procedures.
- Perform join audits of the SEN provision of the room and advise further developments required.
- To lead SENDCo support meetings where identified and requested by the senior management team.
- Support practitioners with practical support eg, EHCP, SEN funding, interventions and referrals.
- Deliver identified support needs for Bucket training, curiosity approach, Schedules, Now and next, Choice boards and IPP’s and PECS.
- Understand the types of positive handling, Hopscotch Policy and Procedure in this area and support the staff with this.
- Coach room leaders to improve provision, routine and structures vs Free flow via joint audits.
- Practitioners have a duty of care to children and have responsibility to flag concerns
- Practitioners will be part of regular supervision meetings
- Practitioners must undergo a DBS Enhanced check and we will require all staff to sign up for the DBS Update Service
